Altenew Golden Garden

Hi long-lost friends! I know it has been a long while since you’ve heard from me, and I’m so sorry! I was busy the last couple months making 11 (yes, 11!) mini albums for a friend as family Christmas gifts. (I will post a video soon!) It was a crazy endeavor, but it’s thankfully finished and I’m back working on cards.

Did you see my exciting news on Instragram? I’ve been accepted into the first class in the Altenew Educator Certification Program! I am so thankful, humbled, and excited to begin this new adventure with one of my favorite companies! So… I am taking every single class on Altenew Academy in the three-part certification program. I’ve taken a few over the last couple of years, and they are excellent. Videos, examples, PDFs, etc. taught by some of the best artists in the industry. Have you taken any classes? I highly encourage everyone to check it out.

The first class I’m taking is All About Layering. It focuses on tutorials for Altenew’s layered stamps and some basic stamping techniques. It’s a good refresher for me. So this first card uses an oldy, but goodie: the artistic and modern Golden Garden stamp set. (You can check out a set of cards I made with this stamp set HERE.) I decided to go with soft, feminine grays and pinks. I thought this could be a pretty card for an engagement announcement or even wedding card. (I know you shouldn’t say congratulations for a wedding card, but I didn’t have a best wishes stamp;)-

I finished the card by layering the panel over Crafter’s Companion shimmering gray cardstock on a Neenah cardstock base. I stamped the sentiment on a leftover piece of CC with black VersaFine ink, and heat embossed clear embossing powder. Next I added a little Wink of Stella to the pink flowers. Finally I added gorgeous jewels from Little Things from Lucy’s Cards. Don’t they add a pretty touch?

What do you think? I still love this stamp set! One of my all-time favorites. Let me know if you take some Altenew Academy classes and share your artwork! Love and crafty hugs!
