Hey Friends! I know…Long time no see! Things have been crazy busy around here, and I promise to share all of the exciting news in the next couple of days, but today I’m thrilled to join in the latest Alex Syberia Designs release of dies and press plates.

Alex actually designed this gorgeous butterfly exclusively for us at the Nashville Craft Retreat, and the workshop (taught by Zoe Collins of IG @snail_mail_4_zoe) was a guest favorite. She taught some fun mixed media techniques and of course featured this beautiful die set.

This was the first time I could create with the butterfly set, and I am so in love with this! How pretty is that large focal point? I love that you can create the side view or add all four wings.

I used the front and back of two sets of wings to create the dimension for this by flipping one set backward, and inked the four wings with pink, yellow, and blue. Then I dribbled and lifted water. Next I used the new press plate to stamp the floral background, and then spritzed it with water for an organic watercolor effect.

Finally I inked the sentiments plate with VersaMark, and heat embossed white WOW! Embossing Powder before blending blue ink over the sentiment. I added foam tape to back of the pieces for dimension, and put everything together with the finishing touch of aqua gems.
