Colorado Craft Company August 2021 Release

Hi Everyone, and welcome back! I hope you are having a fabulous week. Today I’m sharing a lovely card I created for the new Colorado Craft Company release featuring two Big and Bold and two Whimsy World stamp and die sets.

How pretty is that hummingbird from the Hibiscus Hummingbird as the focal point of this birthday card? I colored this card with Zig Twin Tip markers, and I love how he turned out. For a little extra sparkle, I added Wink Of Stella. What do you think?

So here’s a big tip I have for you today: If you are disappointed with the background or something you’ve colored, just cover it with vellum! LOL! That’s what I did for this, because I wasn’t happy with how I colored the flowers. I stamped the vellum, heat embossed it, and adhered it over the colored background to soften the overall effect.

Colorado Craft Company is giving away stamp sets to two followers/commenters for each designer. One commenter will win a stamp set of choice from my blog, and one random follower/commenter will win a stamp set of choice from my Instagram account.

You have until midnight EDT on August 6th to leave comments on both accounts. Random winners will be selected and announced August 7th on my blog and Instagram accounts.

  1. I’d say the Wink of Stella was a huge success. Amazing the sparkle added when using the muted effect from the vellum. Lovely card.

  2. Your hummingbird is fabulous. I love the tip about the vellum. There are some cards I’ve flung into the recycle bin because I was less than thrilled so that was great to learn.

  3. This card is beautiful! The way you colored the hummingbird is fabulous and thanks for the tip about the vellum. Great idea!
