Colorado Craft Company Anita Jeram Release – March, 2022

Hello Everyone and welcome back! Today I am excited to share this Family Love card I created for the Colorado Craft Company & Anita Jeram Blog Hop.

This fun family scene made me giggle, and I had to color it first. This crazy family portrait is just so full of love and kid craziness! Isn’t it adorable?

I thought it would be fun to Copic color this scene on Kraft cardstock. The important thing to understand about Copic coloring on Kraft is that the marker color is translucent. So it is much less vibrant than when you color on white cardstock. For that reason, I added details and highlights with Prismacolor pencils after I finished the Copic coloring.

The only detail I forgot to add before photographing was to use a black Micron Pigment pen to re-draw the eyes and other black details over the final colored image. Oh well. Hopefully, I will remember next time.

  1. I love how you layered and gave your card some dimension and the addition of some jute. My daughter’s house is just like this when we visit. Only 2 kids but seems like 5 kids! Loud and crazy.

  2. Really like your coloring on this card Erin… the dots on the mouses fur is really nice. And the floor really looks like a wood floor. Wonderful attention to detail. Thank you so much for sharing.

  3. This card put a huge smile on my face. The mice look so realistic with the colors you chose and you pinked up their feet, tails, ears, and noses. So adorable! Thanks for sharing.

  4. I love this stamp set! Families everywhere can relate! Sometimes life feels like a 3 ring circus but staying calm in the midst of all the craziness is a must! Your card is adorable! Even without the black accents! Thank you for sharing!

  5. This set seems to be the favorite of all the designers. I love how you have the background and the front the same. Did you die cut the center from the card and then pop it up? Very, very effective

  6. I had a lot of mice as a preteen/teen. I must say…your coloring makes me think YOU did, too. I live the variety & markings – your coloring is very realistic. Lovely color choice, as well. Job Well Done! ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!!

    1. LOL! I did have mice. We started with four and quickly had dozens! Yes, they were all sorts of adorable colors like these. PS- We owned rats and guinea pigs too. Those rodents are much friendlier. It’s a good thing Anita Jeram gives us a good variety in adorable critters. I love them all. 💕
