Hello Crafty Friends! I am proud to share a special card I created with a new Big and Bold Colorado Craft Company stamp set, Ukraine Sunflower. This stamp set is now available in the 3C store, and all proceeds will be donated to the craft industry’s very special superstar, Yana Smakula.
Yana is special to all of us within this industry, and she lives in western Ukraine. She has remained in her country working through horrible times, running to bomb shelters when the sirens alert, and traveling as far as two hours one direction to larger cities for supplies to support her country’s troops. All proceeds from the sale of this stamp or stamp/die duo will be donated to Yana’s Ukrainian troop support efforts.
The Card
I fussy cut a mask of the single sunflower, and after stamping the large center flower, I stamped one on each side. Then I colored the flowers and background with Altenew Artist Markers (alcohol ink markers).
The letters are foiled and die cut from the Pinkfresh Studio Inna Alpha hot foil plates on the Spellbinders’ Glimmer Machine. It’s a two-step foiling process in which I foiled the outline first, and then used the negative and foiled again using the PFS solid hot foil plate. Finally I used the coordinating die to cut out all of the letters.
Aligning individual die cut letters always is a struggle. Ugh! I did the best I could by using a T-ruler. I added a little respositionable tape to the back of the letters and gently patted in place on the ruler and my card. Then I carefully lifted with low-tack craft tape, and flipped over to add foam dots. Finally, I realigned the letters on the ruler, and adhered into place. The final touch was to add gorgeous gold gems around the letters.
