Hello Friends, and welcome back to the blog. I am excited to share a lovely loose watercolored card featuring the new Gina K. Designs release.
I began by heat embossing all of the stamped images with white embossing powder on Bristol Strathmore Smooth cardstock. Next I quickly ink blended shades of Distress Oxide pinks on the large balloon image to create a highlighted effect.

All images and the background were inked in Distress Oxide and Distress inks in shades of pink and lavender (with the exception of the foliage stamped in green). I like using a combination of distress ink pads and sprays to create organic, loose watercolor backgrounds and images.
After all of the images were dry, I splattered with Oxide ink and Dr. PH Martin’s Bleed Proof White.

The florals and background were easily inked by spraying Distress Oxides and ink spray stains onto the embossed images and background panel. I used a watercolor brush to move ink around and add shading with the ink. In creating the background panel, I layered and dried several times to get the desired effect, and then I softly ink blended a little Distress Ink around the edges to finish the panel.

I die cut the scalloped panel from vellum, and wrapped the white twine finished with a bow. Next I layered all of the die cut pieces with foam tape, and added the sentiment. Finally I added a few Disco Ball sequins for a little sparkle.
What do you think about this loosely watercolored card? I love the result! Thanks so much for joining me today. Love and crafty hugs!
