3D Embossing Folder Magic

Hello and welcome back Friends! Today I’m sharing a lovely 3D embossed card featuring the new Spellbinders Through the Arbor Garden Collection.

I began creating this card by running a piece of Hammermill cardstock through the die machine in the new 3D embossing folder, Bee Cause. Then I inked with a combination of Catherine Pooler inks and Distress Oxide inks in shades of yellow and hints of light browns to create a warm, sweet honey color. I highlighted the definition of the embossing folder by next using my finger to gently rub gold pigment ink across the raised honeycomb. Next I rubbed black pigment ink softly onto the bees.

Then I spritzed and lifted water, and spattered gold watercolor paint onto the embossed card. Can you see all of the fine details and the interest it adds?

I added a single flower and foliage from the new Nasturtiam and Galvanized Bucket Etched Dies Set. For added detail, I ink blended a little yellow in the center of the flower, and used green shades of colored pencil on the foliage.

Finally, I wrapped black twine, added the sentiment, and a few half-round beads before layering onto metallic cardstock and the black card base.

What do you think? I love all of the details on this embossed card, and the overall effect on the 3D embossing. Thanks so much for stopping by today. Love and crafty hugs!

Erin
