Hi Everybody! Sorry that I was absent for a few days, but I’ve been busy with projects around the house. After waiting weeks, our new front door was installed on Monday, and it was soooooo worth the wait! It is gorgeous, but it also motivated me to get the four doors in the foyer painted.

We moved into our new (20 year-old) house in March, and we have been remodeling ever since. We began by ripping up all the carpet on the first floor and laying hardwood floors. The walls and foyer ceiling are painted Behr Dolphin Fin, and it was time to update the foyer doors after the new front door was installed on Monday. The new door is black, but it’s a fully leaded door with sidelights. It lets in so much sunlight now that I knew the small area could handle the four dark doors.

Changing interior doors from white to black instantly updates the interior. Of course I love black furniture, but I think black updates most everything and gives a contemporary look.
Half of the dated, brass door knobs don’t work in our house. So, slowly they are being changed as I paint rooms and doors. Do you know how expensive new handles or levers cost? They can be expensive! These are the cheapest I could find that still looked nice. These are from Amazon for $17 each. The next steps are to touch up and paint trim, and change the hinges to brushed nickel.
Yes, I know another project will be to paint the banister. And it will be painted black as well!
So…Have I made you believers? Are you ready to paint your doors too? If you still aren’t convinced, then check out Pinterest. Hopefully, I’ll see pics of your doors painted black as well!
Thanks everyone for stopping by! Happy painting!
