Simon Says Stamp November Card Kit

Hi Everyone! Sorry that I haven’t posted in a week, but it’s been crazy busy here! My older son has been preparing for marching band Grand Nationals this weekend, and my youngest son has been home sick from school all week. However, I have managed to get a couple of cards made!

I was so excited to get this month’s card kit from Simon Says Stamps that I felt like a little kid checking the mailbox each day. And is it my imagination, or does it seem to come later each month? It was soooo worth the wait though. From the large sentiment, “So incredibly grateful for all of my blessings,” to the variety of papers and cardstocks, and finally to the cute graphics. It offers so many possibilities!

This is the first of four cards I’ve created, and I think it’s my favorite so far. I stamped VersaMark and clear embossing powder with the leaf stamps on the green card panel, and then splattered gold Distress Stain. Finally, I used Vintage Photo Distress Ink around the edges.

The sentiment and flags were cut from Crafter’s Companion Shimmering Cardstock using My Favorite Things stitched dies with more distress ink around the edges for a vintage look. The sentiment was stamped with gold Ranger embossing powder. In order to give the graphic cuts more dimension, I distressed those with Vintage Photo ink as well. Finally, I added Wink of Stella to the flowers and leaves for a slight bit of shimmer.

I hope you are inspired to create something new this week. Most of all, I hope you are inspired to slow down, take a moment, and give thanks for the bountiful blessings in your life. My life is blessed in so many ways, and I am so very, very, grateful for each and every one. Thank you for joining me in this post!
