Altenew Persian Motifs Watercolor

image

Hi! This will be my second post today, and a very quick one. I’m sure that will make most people happy! LOL. This is a card I created on my first day of Altenew’s Academy on die cutting using Persian Motifs and Distress Ink watercoloring.

I used clear embossing on watercolor paper for the flowers, and then watercolored using Distress Inks. After the flowers dried, I die cut them with the coordinating dies, and added Wink of Stella for shimmer.

The background was so much fun! I lightly stamped on watercolor paper using Distress Ink. Once I had filled in as much blank space as possible, I lightly misted the entire thing with water, waited a few seconds, and then patted dry with paper towels. I gave it a thorough drying with the heat gun before doing a quick all-over water wash of Mowed Lawn Distress Stain. Finally, I patted this with paper towels, dried with the heat gun, and splattered with silver Distress Stain for interest.

The base and “Thanks” sentiment are . . . (You guessed it!) Crafter’s Companion Shimmering Cardstock in silver. If you’ve been following me, then you know that I use CCSC on almost every card I create! Love it!

The final touches were to use foam tape for the top layer, round the corners, tied the bow, and added Opal dots. Tah-dah!

Let me know if you check out Altenew and if you love their stuff as much as I do! They have a new release this month, and I think I want almost everything. Big surprise! Have fun shopping.
