Hi Everyone! This is my third card from Altenew’s Die Cutting Class. This class focused on using negative space in die cutting. I had a lot of fun with this technique, because I only had used negative die cutting for shaker cards previously. I think this came out very pretty.
I die cut the butterflies from Crafter’s Companion Shimmering Cardstock in ivory using Altenew’s Painted Painted Butterflies set, and then used the negative space over kraft cardstock to ink the butterfly outlines using VersaMark and black embossing powder. Then I inked the layers using Altenew’s Crisp Inks. The final touch to the butterflies was to add Wink of Stella for a hint of shimmer.
Finally, I embossed the sentiment in black and added clear sequins. What do you think? A simple, yet striking, card to send a dear friend!
