Hi Everyone! I’m cutting it very close on this one, but hopefully I will make the deadline for Tim Holtz’ July 12 Tags of 2016 Remix. Before I talk about my tag, though, I have to ask if you know what today is? It’s Harry Potter’s birthday today! Happy Birthday to my family’s favorite fictional character.
Now back to this month’s tag. Tim challenged us this month to create a tag using watercolor resist with Micro Glaze and layered words. I completed the assignment for watercoloring, but fell short on layering words. You know how sometimes you just can’t get something to look right, and you have to take it off to achieve balance? That’s what happened with my layered words. I tried to add ‘here & now’, but it wouldn’t work. So I just have ‘Explore’. Sorry Tim!
I don’t have much time this evening, so I’m going to mainly post pictures of the process. I think you can figure out most of the steps, but email me if you have questions.

Well, there it is! What do you think? I broke one of Tim’s challenges, but sometimes art rules must be broken for art’s sake. Don’t you agree? Thanks again for stopping by. Love and artsy hugs!

wow! this tag is really lovely! so pretty and so many details and layers. I love the stitching also. I have never sewn on a tag either, I’m really wanting to try it. Did you use your regular sewing machine? i got a little craft sewing machine, but the other one is out. i might just try it. some people say it will hurt your machine. i’ll be brave. lol thanks so much for sharing your lovely creation! hugs, treen

Hi Treen! Thank you so much for taking the time to leave me a message (and for stopping by my blog)! Yes, I used a regular sewing machine for the stitching, and it was very easy. I’m not sure if it will harm the machine, but I wouldn’t think so. I’m guessing it will probably dull the needle, but that’s okay. Go for it! It’s for the sake of the art, right? Send me a link or pics of your first stitching project! Thanks again! Erin
