Happy Howl-o-ween-ies

Hi Everyone! So, what do you get when Lawn Fawn releases adorable fall and winter sets with dachshunds and pop-up dies? My new obsessions!!!!  I’ve actually been working on a couple of different cards for two weeks, but I didn’t want to stop playing and take pictures to post. These new products are beyond cute. Have you seen all of the adorable new critters, fairies, and and pop-ups? I seriously adore everything they’ve released! You can check out the Lawn Fawn Blog here.

Cooper (now one year) is the red wienie and Lulu (3) is black and tan.

I couldn’t leave out the big girl! Riley is our beautiful Golden Retriever. This picture was taken when she was young, but she is now 10 years-old.

Most of you probably don’t know this, but I have had wienies (dachshunds) for almost 25 years. They are stubborn, loving, and smart. No surprise that I had to buy both the Halloween set and the Simon Says Stamp Stamptember sets.

I began by blending distress ink on watercolor cardstock for a dusky night sky. Aren’t the colors so pretty together? Gonna have to use this color combo more often!

Next I die cut Lawn Fawn’s new landscape leafy tree backdrop from plaid paper, and then shaded with vintage photo  distress ink. Then I cut two stitched tree borders and inked.

Now, I am not a very good Copic colorer, but I did my best. So please don’t judge! (Thank goodness my sister stepped in and gave me a lesson after I finished this card. Those results will hopefully show in my next post. LOL! Check out some of her tutorials here.) I stamped and colored almost every piece in the set Happy Halloween, and die cut  the ones that I hadn’t totally messed up. Then I decided on a layout and used the new LF everyday pop-ups. For an instructional video from Lawn Fawn, click HERE. I followed the video instructions to attach the colored images and the stitched hillsides.

Finally, I attached everything to a purple cardstock base, and embossed the greeting on a layered base. On the front of the card, I cut a strip of paper and stitched circles, and then placed another cute dressed up wienie on top.

So…what do you think? Have you ordered any of Lawn Fawn’s new stamps, dies, or paper? I have to say that I tried to order a tree border I’d forgotten, and it is sold out everywhere. No luck! I can’t wait to see all of your projects!

Love and crafty hugs!
