Hi Everyone, and welcome back! I hope you are well and enjoying this holiday season so far. Did you know that today is National Christmas Card Day? Today I’m sharing two more cards I created with this month’s Simon Says Stamp card kit, Holiday Cheer, and will be sharing them on the Simon Says Stamp link in the hopes of winning a $100 gift card! (You can see the previous cards I created with the same kit HERE.) The kit already has sold out, but you can still purchase this adorable stamp set, Christmas Cheer, at SSS.
I used the cute, cute, cute stamps and snowflakes to create the background paper on this card, and I love how it turned out! My new favorite die is the Wonky Scalloped frames, and I used it here to add more dimension and interest for Santa. Then I Copic colored the stamped images, fussy cut them, and used tons of foam dots for even more dimension on this card. Finally, I adhered everything to the red cardstock base, and added the pretty Doodlebug Sprinkles in lily white glitter to finish it.
For this second card, I again Copic colored and fussy cut the stamped images. Next, I created my own snow-white, glittery paper by taping a 6″x6″ piece of Scar-Tape onto 80lb. Neenah cardstock, removed the backing, and dusted the entire sheet with Glamour Dust. Once the sheet is covered, tap off the excess, and burnish several times with a teflon bone folder. Is this messy? You bet! No matter what you do, does the Glamour Dust still get everywhere? Yup! But is the lovely, glittery final result worth it? ABSOLUTELY!!
Then I created the night sky with stormy sky and chipped sapphire distress inks, and heat embossed the snowflakes with Ranger Snowflake Tinsel embossing powder. I die cut a frame, used SSS Drifting Stitches die to cut snowbanks from my glitter paper, and adhered my colored images. Finally, I added a piece of craft foam behind my top panel, and adhered everything to the red card base.
Do you have some Christmas cards you would like to share for National Christmas Card Day? You can add your cards HERE for the SSS link or HERE on their Facebook post. I can’t wait to see all of your cards! Love and crafty hugs!
