Altenew Academy Monoprinting Made Easy

Hi Everyone, and welcome back! I hope you are having a great week, and your summer is going well. We are crazy busy at our house as we pack and prepare my son to leave next week for his freshman year at the University of Tennessee. Go Vols! However, I have gotten a little crafty time, and was able to complete the recent Altenew Academy class, Monoprinting Made Easy. I was glad to take this class as my husband bought me two Gelli Plates for Mother’s Day, and I really had no clue how to use them.

Day 1 homework: I can do this!

My favorite technique came from the lesson on day one, and I used the Crown Bloom leaf stamp for this card: Stamp inks onto the Gelli plate, spritz with water, stamp a solid stamp onto the plate, and then stamp it onto paper. (I used Strathmore Bristol Smooth.) Finally, I stamped the leaf outline with VersaFine Clair Nocturne ink.

I love the soft watercolor effect with this Monoprinting technique.

Lots of homework practice!

We sprayed Metallic Shimmer Sprays onto the Gelli Plate and lifted with tissue paper on day five. I used Coral Berry for this card with the Floral Shadow stamps in the background and the new Crystal Frames dies and stamps for the sentiment.

Finally, I used the Mega Greetings 2 stamp and die bundle with sentiments from MG 3 to finish the Crown Bloom card. I used Tim Holtz silver metallic cardstock for the shadow You die cut and the heat embossed sentiment strips. Then I added the black mega you die cut, and used foam dots for dimension. Finally, I added the Pretty Pink Posh midnight black jewels to finish everything.
