Easy Mixed Media Card

Hi Crafty Friends, and welcome back! I’m not sure how often I share this secret, but deep down in my artsy heart I am a mixed media girl! I know…many of you may be shocked, but it’s true! I love all kinds of mediums, mixing them up, and getting my fingers messy is my favorite kind of crafty fun.

This card was so simple, but so fun to create! I began by foiling the Spellbinders’ Paper Arts Glimmer of the Month Club pieces in copper foil, and then cut them out with the coordinating dies. Do you see that gorgeous shine in the above picture? Ooh la la!!

Next I added dimensional foam tape to pop the pieces up on a white layering panel, and added a cute little copper bow with thread.

Then I decided that the embossed white background just needed something more. So I grabbed TCW stencil butter in Copper Penny. I smeared a dollop onto my craft mat, buttered up my Time Holtz Brayer, and gently rolled onto the embossed cardstock. What do you know? It went on like…well, butter!

Finally, I layered everything over copper metallic cardstock and card base, and added a few sequins. Ta-dah! What do you think? This is such a simple technique, but adds so much to a background. I think I need to pull those stencil butters out more often! Love and crafty hugs!
