Watercolor Inside the Lines

Hi Artsy Friends and welcome back! Today I have a lovely card to share featuring an oh-so-easy watercolor technique using a heat embossing trick.

You can find a short process reel on Instagram HERE:

I began by stamping a panel of Strathmore Bristol Smooth cardstock with WOW! Embossing Ink and the lovely Blue Violets Gina K. Designs stamp set, and then heat embossed with Opaque White Ultra Fine powder.

Then I used Aqua Sketchmarkers to easily color and watercolor the embossed image. The embossing helps to contain the colors and water from traveling outside the lines. TIP: A paper towel helps to dab excess water from the paintbrush, and to keep water from pooling on your image.

I finished the card by embossing the sentiment, die cut the panel, layered over pretty cardstock, and added flat-back pearls.

Have you tried this simple watercolor trick? You will love these new watercolor markers, and the lovely effect. Thanks so much for stopping by today. Love and artsy hugs!

Erin

CARD SUPPLIES

A note about supplies: Affiliate links used in this post at no cost to you. Did you know that when you shop by clicking my store links I receive a small tip from the stores? I do, and to pay it forward I donate all proceeds to important charities. Recently I donated to earthquake relief in Turkey through Samaritan’s Purse and to my favorite gentle giants at The Elephant Sanctuary in Tennessee. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting the important work of these charities!
