Hi Everyone! It’s so fun to be back in the new year with this adorable card kit from Simon Says Stamp. I haven’t posted in a couple of weeks because we’ve been in California. My oldest son, who is a freshman, marched in the Rose Parade with his high school’s marching band. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and we all had so much fun!
Have you seen how cute the new January Simon Says Stamp card kit is? It is jam-packed with lots of goodies. The papers and stickers are my favorites. I’ve already created four cards and will be posting them over the next couple of days. I’m also continuing my quest to find my favorite stamping inks, and I hope to create my first video with the results soon. Wish me luck!
I die cut the beautiful dark blue SSS cardstock using a large Lawn Fawn rectangle as the base layer and rubbed Perfect Pearls around the edge for soft shimmer. Then I die cut the next smaller rectangle from Neenah Solar White cardstock, and embossed the snowflakes in silver. It took me a while to get the design exactly the way I wanted with the swirls and tiny snowflakes, but I love the results! Also, I added foam behind this panel for a little interest.
Next I used some of my favorite flag stax dies from My Favorite Things (lol) to cut the plaid paper and a shimmering piece of white from Crafter’s Companion. Stamping fine, little words always gives me fits, and this time was no exception. Don’t look too closely or you might be able to count all of the times I wiped away the VersaMark and powder to start again! Ugh! Finally, I added the cute penguin and used foam dots behind the snowman for a little more dimension.
Don’t you love the critter stickers, swirling snowflake stamps, and pretty papers from this kit? Me too! Thanks for stopping by today. Love and crafty hugs!
