Whimsy Stamps’ Release Week

Hi Everyone, and welcome back! I’m so sorry that I’ve been absent for a few days. My oldest son is a senior this year, and it is crazy busy around here with marching band, college applications, and homecoming this weekend. I have managed to complete a couple of projects for Whimsy Stamps‘ October release, but there are so many goodies this month that you’ll have to head over to the Whimsy shop to see everything.

I could not resist creating a Christmas card with this pretty Brushed Stripes background stamp. I think it looks striking with the red, sparkly embossing! Don’t you? This card was very easy to put together with just the layered cardstock panels and embossed background. I used a black glittery craft foam for the die cut Merry sentiment, and embossed Christmas on vellum.

I love the Christmas Branches die set, and think it is a must-have for your holiday cards and tags. I’ve already used it several times, and now just keep it on my craft table for easy access. I die cut several pieces of foliage from cardstock, and added Distress Oxide ink on the edges for depth. Once I placed everything on the card, I added translucent Stickles on the greenery and red Stickles for berries.

So, what do you think? I love red and black as Christmas colors, and think this sparkly, brushed stripe background makes the card pop. What are your favorite Christmas color combinations? Make sure you check out all of the exciting new stamps and dies for Whimsy‘s release week! Love and crafty hugs!
