Hi Everyone! Did you join us last Saturday on 7 Kids Crafts Facebook page for my very first live video? We only had a few technical difficulties, and it was so much fun. I think I will begin doing live videos on 7 Kids every Thursday night at 8:00 p.m. eastern time. I hope you can join us! Click HERE for the link to the Facebook page.
I shared this card using Altenew Ornate Foliage layered stamp set, and I wanted to show how one stamp set can be used in several different ways.
The colors for this card came about as inspiration from a rainbow die cut I created, and originally I planned for that die cut to be adhered over the flowers. However, it turned out that I liked the flowers better without the die cut. I began by stamping the outline flowers with Memento tuxedo ink, and colored with warm Copic colors. Then I decided that they needed color. So I used Prismacolor pencils to color left to right similar to rainbow colors. Next I added shading with charcoal pencils and a tortillion.
I will admit that I was very heavy-handed with the splatters on this card. I used white and black gesso (my favorite splatter mediums for white and black), and I tried a new fan brush. Honestly, I’m not thrilled with the results, and I’ve tried a couple of times with it. I don’t think I like the results, and will go back to a watercolor brush for splatters.
Finally, I stamped the Fancy Greetings sentiment on die cut vellum, and added Tonic Nuvo glitter drops in golden sunset. I adhered the stamped panel onto Tim Holtz idea-ology metallic cardstock, and then popped it all up with foam tape on a black card base.
So what do you think? Stay tuned for the final card I created from our live video. It looks completely different from this one. Don’t you love that? One stamp set; so many options! Love and crafty hugs!
Erin
