Hi Everyone! I hope you are well, and enjoying your summer. Hopefully you have had a relaxing vacation, or at least had some time to craft. Today I’m sharing my final Spellbinders’ Paper Arts birthday celebration card with this fun pastel pencil creation. (You can find my previous post from this release HERE.)

I began by stamping the Awesome Birthday Clear Stamp candles and stars with WOW gold embossing glitter on black cardstock, and then embossed the sentiment in WOW metallic gold. Sometimes the embossing glitter is not fine enough to get a crisp sentiment, and that is usually why I used two different embossing powders.
Then I quickly colored the candles in rainbow order using Faber-Castell pastel pencils. This is so easy, but gives a lovely effect on the black cardstock. For even more pop, I could have colored the candles white first, and then used colored pencils, but I love how easy, yet dramatic the effect on this.

I used the Fluted Rectangle Dies to cut, and then layered over Spellbinders’ metallic gold cardstock. Finally, I added Bougie beads (a custom mix I created for the Nashville Craft Retreat) for the ultimate gold touch.
What do you think? I adore anything shimmery on black cardstock. Thanks so much for stopping by the blog today! Love and artsy hugs!
Erin
