Closing 2016-Part 1

Hi crafty friends! It has been too long since my last post, and I am very sorry! We were so busy at the end of November and December that things just got away from me. I thought I would do some house cleaning and take a couple of blog posts to share several Christmas cards. Better late than never!

Most importantly, I wanted to share the final two sets of cards for the Caring Hearts Card Drive. (I did meet the deadline and my goal! I just hadn’t shared the final cards with you.) First is a card I created using Reverse Confetti dies and stamp. Have you checked out this company? It’s one of my new favorites! I used a Christmas gift card to buy cardstock, ink, and dies from them, and I can’t wait to share some new cards soon.

I began by die cutting all of the pieces and panels. Then I used gold embossing for the stamped “Christmas”. Next, I taped the panels together onto the base card, and then glued all of the die cut pieces onto each card.

Finally, I added red, glittery Stickles to dot the i and for berries on the wreaths. So simple and cute! Don’t you think?

I created the final set for the card drive using Simon Says Stamp and Hero Arts products from 2015. I began by stamping the Hero Arts background stamp with VersaMark ink on watercolor paper, and then embossed the snowflakes with SSS embossing powder. This gave it a delicate sparkle. Next I blended distress ink onto the panel, dribbled water, and finally blotted it away.

The SSS snowflake die was cut from my favorite shimmering white cardstock, and then inlaid back into the card placing it over the background. I stamped and embossed the sentiment onto vellum paper, and wrapped it around the panel. Next I used craft foam to add dimension, and glued it onto the background and card base.

Sorry! The lighting is off on this picture. I’ve been struggling with my photography lately! Ugh!

Finally, I added sequins and Nuvo Chrystal Drops for extra bling. What do you think? (It was prettier in person.)

To meet my goal of thirty cards (and because I ran out of time), I added cards from Christmas 2015 that I hadn’t used. That’s it. Did anyone else join in the fun? They had wonderful results that you can read about HERE.

Love and crafty hugs!

Erin
