Hi Crafty Friends! I am so excited to finally share the first of my cards for Catherine Pooler’s new release, In The Kitchen. This card uses the stamps and dies, Call Me. How cute is this retro, rotary dial phone?
This new collection will have you feeling groovy, and remembering the earthy colors of the 70s. Who remembers the avacado green, orange, and yellow kitchens and appliances? I do! Catherine has been busy all week sharing bundle videos on YouTube. You can see them HERE, and catch the next couple leading up to release day. StampNation members can order early at noon on Tueasday, and the release goes live in the store on Wednesday, January 29th.
The staples for this collection include Potluck Party cardstock, Des Moines sequins, Stitched Squares dies, and Picture Frame dies. The coordinating ink colors include Rouge, Mandarin Spice, Sauna, Green Tea, Eucalyptus, Icing On The Cake, and Over Coffee. How pretty do those colors look together?
I knew immediately that I had to use those speech bubbles for a background! I began by stamping the bubbles in Midnight ink on CP white cardstock, and embossed the messages with WOW ink pad and white embossing powder. After heat-setting, I randomly stamped the smaller sentiments and added the little hearts in Rouge.
Did you know that CP inks stay wet so that you can emboss after stamping? Yup! I stamped the rotary phone in Rouge, and quickly covered in clear embossing powder and heat-set it. I adhered it to a stitched square, and added black cardstock. I added white twine around the stamped background, red cardstock behind, and adhered it to the black card base. Finally, I added foam dots to the back of the phone square for dimension.
Are you so excited for all of the cute products in this release? Stay tuned for one last bundle to be revealed on Monday! I will be sharing lots more card inspiration over the next few days. Love and crafty hugs!
